City Attorney Throws Himself at Mercy of Commissioners
Ron Ramsingh addressed commissioners with a hand-written letter a little more than an hour before the Special Meeting that will determine his fate

Disgraced City Attorney Ron Ramsingh addressed commissioners late this afternoon with a hand-written letter on lined notebook paper in blue ink.
In the letter, Ramsingh asked that commissioners consider terminating him without cause in order to spare the community vitriol and his family from having to endure anymore negative comments.
Sadly, There has been a shift in our town: gone are the days of thoughtful, learned, peaceful, but spirited debate,” he wrote. “It has been replaced with shouting, keyboard warriors, and people who love to use our beloved motto
‘One Human Family’ as a Sword and a Shield. People think that if they have the bumper sticker and a Conch Republic license plate, it makes them local. That's not it at all. Being a local of Key West is a State of mind.”
Ramsingh and his brother, Chief Building Officer, Raj, spent a little more than an hour at the Monroe County Detention Center on Stock Island Wednesday night as they resolved bonds for their additional felony charges handed down by a Monroe County Grand Jury on Tuesday.
The special meeting is scheduled to start in about 25 minutes and is available locally on Ch. 77 or live-streamed on the City’s website.
